Advertiser Terms

Last updated: 2 October 2026

These terms apply when you book ads on MyLocalAds. They sit alongside our Terms of use and Privacy statement.

Draft for Metcash review. These terms are written in plain English for the pilot on Sydney's Lower North Shore and are being reviewed by Metcash. They will be formally reviewed before MyLocalAds expands to a second area.

1. What you buy

You buy plays: one run of your ad on one screen, matched to a decision our system made for that screen at that time. Your reports and invoices count verified plays only.

A play means the ad ran on the screen. It does not mean someone saw it or bought something. We never claim how many people saw an ad, how many walked past, or what they bought. If you want to see whether an ad worked, add an offer code to it and count the customers who use it.

2. What it costs

  • Every screen has a floor: the price per play Metcash sets for that screen. By default your campaign pays the floor.
  • You can add a Boost: the most you're willing to pay per play. It only matters when more than one advertiser wants the same screen at the same time.
  • When that happens, the advertiser willing to pay the most wins and pays the lowest price that still wins. You never pay below the floor or above your Boost. Ties go to priority, then chance.
  • Boost has a network ceiling that Metcash sets, so no one can outbid everyone by an unlimited amount.
  • Your budget caps what you spend. We spread it evenly across your dates and stop when it runs out.

3. Review

A person at Metcash reviews every ad before it plays, usually within two business hours (Sydney time, Monday to Friday). We may decline an ad that breaks our content rules or the law, or that isn't right for a venue where children may be present, and we'll tell you why. Venues can block categories or advertisers on their own screens, but they don't approve ads; Metcash does.

4. Billing and GST

  • Prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST. GST is added on your invoice, which is a tax invoice.
  • You are charged only for verified plays. A play that can't be matched to a decision is never billed.
  • Card payments are handled by Stripe. If a payment fails, your campaigns pause until it goes through.

5. Credit

  • You can buy credit in advance. You pay the amount plus GST, and the amount before GST becomes your credit.
  • Plays use your credit first; only spend beyond it goes on your card.
  • Promotional credit we give you (for example on a first campaign) has no cash value and can't be refunded.
  • Unused credit you bought can be refunded on request if you close your account, less any amount already used.

6. Proof of play

Your reports show when and where your ads ran, and you can download them. A shareable proof-of-play page per campaign is coming during the pilot. We keep play records for seven years.

7. Changing or stopping a campaign

You can pause or end a campaign at any time. Plays that already ran are still billed. Changing the ad sends it back for review.

8. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for your ads: that they are accurate, lawful and yours to use, and that any offer in them is honoured. Contact us at support@mylocaleyes.com.au with any question about a campaign or an invoice.
