Terms of use
Last updated: 2 October 2026
These terms cover everyone who uses MyLocalAds: advertisers, venues and their teams. MyLocalAds is run by [Metcash entity] ("Metcash", "we", "us"). Using the website, the console or the MyLocalAds Venue app means you agree to them. Advertisers also agree to the Advertiser Terms, and venues to the Venue Terms.
Draft for Metcash review. These terms are written in plain English for the pilot on Sydney's Lower North Shore and are being reviewed by Metcash. They will be formally reviewed before MyLocalAds expands to a second area.
1. What MyLocalAds is
MyLocalAds puts local businesses and brands on TV screens inside nearby venues, such as cafes, barbers, gyms and independent grocers. Advertisers book plays on those screens. Venues host the screens and keep a share of what they earn. Metcash reviews every ad, runs the network and moves the money.
A play means the ad ran on the screen. It does not mean someone saw it or bought something. We count verified plays and nothing else.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to act for the business you sign up.
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date, including your business name and ABN where we ask for it.
- Keep your sign-in private. You are responsible for what happens in your workspace, including what your team members do.
- Tell us straight away at support@mylocaleyes.com.au if you think someone else has used your account.
3. What you can and can't do
Please don't:
- put anything on a screen that is unlawful, misleading, offensive, or not suitable for a public place where children may be present;
- use content you don't have the right to use, or someone else's name or brand without permission;
- try to get around the review, the price per play, or the limits we set;
- interfere with the network, the TV Sticks, or other people's accounts, or try to copy or reverse engineer the software.
We can refuse an ad, pause a campaign or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we'll tell you why first.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the ads, images, logos and promotions you upload. You give us permission to store, check, resize and play them on the screens you choose, and to show them in your reports, for as long as they are on the network and for our records afterwards. You promise you have the rights to everything you upload.
5. Money
- All prices and amounts are in Australian dollars. Advertiser invoices include GST.
- What advertisers pay, and what venues earn, is set out in the Advertiser Terms and Venue Terms.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
6. Our part
We work hard to keep screens playing and reports accurate, but the network depends on venues' TVs, power and internet. We don't promise every screen will be online all the time. If a screen is offline, advertisers are only charged for plays that actually ran.
7. Liability in plain words
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Apart from those rights, we are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us (or, for venues, what we paid you) in the three months before the problem. You are responsible for your content and for any claim that it breaks the law or someone else's rights.
8. Ending
You can stop using MyLocalAds at any time by contacting us. We can close an account that breaks these terms, or end the service with 30 days' notice. Anything owed either way is still settled.
9. Changes
These terms, and the prices and settings they mention, can change. We'll give at least 14 days' notice by email for anything that matters to you. If you keep using MyLocalAds after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
10. The fine print
- These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
- Advertisers also agree to the Advertiser Terms, and venues to the Venue Terms.
- Your privacy is covered by our Privacy statement.
